1st Fremantle Sea Scout Group
Friday 23 June to Sunday 25 June 2023
We will be holding an all sections camp at 2nd Bunbury Sea Scout Hall, Cobblestone Drive, Bunbury.
All sections of the group are invited to attend. We are looking forward to a fun weekend where all the youth members from every section get to meet and have fun with each other.
We are looking for 2 volunteer parents to cook for the camp for us (at no cost to attend). Please speak to one of the leaders if you are available and happy to help. If you haven’t done it before, can cook and would like to help, we would love to have you along.
Cubs, Scouts and Venturers will attend from Friday night until Sunday. Joeys are invited to attend for Saturday and Sunday (staying just one night). If Joeys have older siblings in another section, they may attend for both nights – please discuss this with the leaders on an individual basis.
It is a roughly 2 hour drive to Bunbury. Car pooling is strongly recommended. Please ensure the leaders are aware who is transporting your youth member to and from the camp.
Cost is $90 for Youth members staying both nights. $75 for joeys staying one night. This includes entry fee to Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Any parents (particularly joey parents) wishing to attend and stay at the camp MUST have a valid working with children check card. Cost to attend will be $50 to cover catering and per head accommodation fees. (entry to dolphin discovery centre would be extra). If this is something you would like to consider, please discuss with the leaders ASAP. There is a caravan park and other accommodation options nearby so if you wish to stay close by instead that is an option.
SUNDAY lunchtime will see a whole group Parade and Advancement ceremony. This is a particularly special occasion where a number of Cub Scouts will advance to Scouts and a number of Scouts to Venturers. Parents are encouraged to arrive by 12pm on Sunday to join us for a sausage sizzle and support your kids at this special occasion.
FULL UNIFORM will be required for the camp for this reason. Youth members are encouraged to wear full uniform to travel to and from the Camp. (Bring a coat hanger to hang it up so it still looks neat on Sunday).
