GROUP CAMP MANJEDAL 2024

Fremantle Sea Scout Group Camp 2-4 Aug 2024, 

REGISTRATIONS closed Friday JUNE 28  (end of Term 2) to confirm numbers for activity bookings.  Please complete a new form entry for EACH person attending the camp. 

This year our whole group camp is being held at the Scouts WA Manjedal Activity Centre, 163 Manjedal Rd, Karrakup (just the other side of Byford) from Friday 2nd August until Sunday 4th August.   Youth members and Leaders from all sections of our Group are invited to participate.

Accommodation, costs and catering plan are slightly different for each section.  Please refer to activity forms and information from your section leader for more details.  Pick up and drop off is at Manjedal – car pooling recommended.

Basic info is listed below:

Joey Scouts:    Cost $80  (includes activities, catering and dormitory accommodation 1 night)

Arrive 11.00am Saturday, depart 10.00am Sunday.    All catering provided.  Sleeping in dormitories – bring warm sleeping bags and pillows.  (Mattresses provided).   

3 options for Joeys:  1. Attend on Saturday and go home after campfire Saturday evening with parents.  There will be a fee to cover catering for parents.  

2.  Stay overnight with other youth members in dormitories. 

3.  Parents may choose to book into onsite accommodation at The Castles on the other side of the campground (at your own expense) and Joeys can choose to stay with you there or with the cubs in the dormitories (You are eligible for member rates and siblings are welcome to stay with you but will remain under your care).

Castles

Cub Scouts:  Cost $130  (includes activities, food and dormitory accommodation 2 nights)

Arrive Friday evening 6.30pm Friday.  Depart 2.30pm Sunday.  All catering provided.  Sleeping in dormitories – bring warm sleeping bags and pillows.  (Mattresses provided). 

Scouts and Venturers:  $110  (includes activities, food and camping fees for tents 2 nights)

Arrive Friday evening 6.30pm.  Depart 2.30pm Sunday.   Sleeping in tents.  BYO all sleeping gear  Cooking own meals (food included in the cost).  Saturday dinner will be a whole group shared meal cooked for you.  

A note about the costs….

We realise these are slightly higher than usual camp fees.  Dormitory accommodation fees are higher than tent camping fees and we have booked to use high ropes activities at Manjedal which require staff and equipment to run.  This carries a per head cost of just under $30 pp (much cheaper than similar commercial activities).

Please note:  You will still need to complete an activity registration form for your youth member attending.  These will be available from and must be returned to your section leader.
